Casa da Galeria

Casa da Galeria is a modern boutique hotel in downtown Ponta Delgada.

Outside, the building’s 19^th century townhouse façade and decorative ironmongery has received a clean, contemporary facelift. Inside, the décor breaks with it’s traditional Azorean origins, with warm ash and modest whites helping to create a feeling of space, light and order. This theme continues throughout the fixtures and fittings, which celebrate the very best in Portuguese furniture design. On the walls, you’ll see original works from the neighbouring Galeria Fonseca Macedo – located on the ground floor, the gallery has championed Azorean contemporary art for over twenty years.

There are nine air-conditioned apartments in total – five one-bedroom apartments and four open-plan studios – each with a kitchenette/diner/living room, king-size beds, smart TVs and free Wi-Fi throughout. Breakfast is delivered to your apartment each morning – there’s also a heated outdoor pool, solarium, sauna, steam room, gym and private car park. As a base to explore the Azorean capital, the location couldn’t be better – Ponta Delgada’s marina, the Portas da Cidades gates, the Mercado da Graca and the city’s best restaurants are all a short walk away.
