Casa da Palha

Casa da Palha is a beautiful, two-bedroom cottage on the summery south coast of Sao Miguel.  

This family casa sits within the grounds of a 200-year-old manor house, surrounded by fruits trees with a view across the island’s southern farmlands and out across the Atlantic Ocean.

There’s a sociable, open-plan living room/diner on the ground floor, leading to a well-equipped modern kitchen. Upstairs, there are two cosy twin bedrooms, each with it’s own ensuite bathroom, and the décor is a pleasant combination of modern and classic Azorean throughout

We recommend include a hire car during your stay – it’s a five-minute drive into the nearby town of Lagoa, popular for it’s local restaurants, and the capital Ponta Delgada, the harbour town of Vila Franca, and the mountains of Lagoa do Fogo are all a short drive away.
