Casa Lareira

Casa Lareira is a three-bedroom farmhouse on the peaceful north coast of Sao Miguel.

Casa Lareira is the largest property on the beautiful Menezes country estate which dates back to the 16^th century. This southern-side of the estate is home to four casas – Casa Lareira, Casa Pompal, Casa Granel and the main Casa do Monte farmhouse – and all four properties reflect owner Maria Joao Menezes’ love of classic-Azorean period furnishings.

Lareira has one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, a spacious living room with a magnificent working fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen and it’s own private terrace. The shared gardens and outdoor pool are one of the highlights of a stay on the estate, with their wonderful view across the north coast of the island.

Due to it’s secluded rural location, we recommend including a hire car during your stay to allow you to explore the whole of Sao Miguel – the bustling north coast town of Ribeira Grande, the Gorreana tea plantation and the great crater at Sete Cidades are all a short drive away.
