Overview
Hotel Camoes is a four star hotel in the heart of the Azorean capital Ponta Delgada.
The hotel was originally constructed in 19th century as a private townhouse and is named after Luis de Camoes, considered Portugal’s greatest poet – his epic poem ‘Os Lusíadas’ famously retells the journeys of explore Vasco da Gama; the first sailor to chart the route by sea from Europe to India. There are thirty-nine ensuite air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, and a cafe bar and bistro which is open throughout the day. It’s central location puts the whole of the capital on your doorstep – the Avenida Infante Dom Henrique, the Portas do Mar marina, the Jose do Canto botanical gardens and the Porta da Cidades gates are all a short walk away.
