Hotel da Graciosa

The Hotel da Graciosa is a modern hotel on the outskirts of Santa Cruz.

The hotel has fifty-two ensuite rooms; most rooms have a private balcony, overlooking the outdoor pool with the sea beyond. There’s also a bar, terrace and restaurant, and it’s a short five-minute taxi/fifteen-minute stroll into the centre of Santa Cruz – it’s pretty tree-lined main square is a lovely spot to relax in the evenings over a glass of Azorean wine.

We recommend including a hire car during your stay, to allow you to explore the whole island. A short drive south will bring you to the island’s largest caldera, and a visit to the volcanic cave at Furna do Enxofre is a must. Graciosa’s coastline also has some lovely swimming spots – the beach at Praia de Sao Mateus and the Termas geothermal baths at Carapacho are both great options for a lazy day.
