Hotel do Caracol

The Hotel do Caracol is at the western-end of Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira’s historic capital city.

It’s a beautiful location overlooking Baia da Vila Maria bay, the deep-blue Atlantic Ocean and Angra’s most recognisable natural monument: the extinct Monte Brasil volcano. It’s popular for it’s outdoor pool, direct access to the sea – and for it’s dive centre: run by the Arraia dive team. The hotel was renovated in 2018 – the rooms are spacious and light: our favourites are  their balcony room overlooking the bay.
