Sensi Azores Nature and Spa

The Sensi Azores Nature and Spa is a tranquil coastal retreat, where you can enjoy an unhurried holiday at relaxed and sedate pace.

The Sensi is one of Sao Miguel’s newest boutique hotels, on southern slopes of the great crater at Sete Cidades. This beautifully converted farmstead has twenty-one rooms in total – the décor is contemporary Portuguese, with clean lines contrasted against the bold, agricultural lava stone and Japanese cedar beams of the original barns and grainstores.

In the main building, Casa Grande and the Atlantic Master rooms have the best views of the surrounding countryside and the Atlantic ocean beyond. Once the old stable block, the Atlantic Exclusive, South Exclusive and Arch rooms surround the inner courtyard and garden – some have their own private plunge pools. There’s also the Atlantic Exclusive Villa – a home-from-home with a living room, a small kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom and a private garden,

All the rooms have flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi, and en-suite bathrooms with bathtubs or showers. There’s also an outdoor pool, an indoor pool and sauna, and an excellent on-site restaurant. With the latter, (and due to the secluded location of the Sensi), we can reserve a table for dinner on your first evening. We also recommend including a hire car during your stay to allow you to explore the whole of Sao Miguel – the famous viewpoint at Vista do Rei and the natural thermal ocean pools at Ferraria are both a short drive away.
