Villa Paraiso is a one-story new-build in the peaceful parish of Santo Espirito. This area of Santa Maria has always been popular with Azoreans for it’s long sunny days and sublime sunsets, and the villa’s south-facing, floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors help to blur the divide between indoor and outdoor living.

The sociable open-plan living space has a comfortable lounge, a large family-sized dining table, and a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, fridge, kettle, toaster, juicer, blender, microwave and tea station. This central living space is flanked by two double ensuite bedrooms – one equipped with a bathtub and the other with a large double shower. Moving outside, there’s a second alfresco dining table on the sun terrace: perfect for lazy lunches and evening BBQs. Up above, the green roof garden is a living space, shrouded in marigolds and aromatic herbs.

Villa Cantinho do Paraiso shares it’s grounds with a second, one bedroom property called Casita Paraiso. If you’re travelling with friends or relatives, it’s easy to combine the two properties. We also recommend including a hire car to allow you to explore the whole island – it’s a short drive to beach at Praia Formosa, the forest park at Recreio das Fontinhas, the cascata do Aveiro waterfall, and the pretty coastal village of Sao Lourenco.
